Daytime to evening makeup lesson with Jo

One of my absolute favourite things to do as a makeup artist is to teach makeup to other people. First and foremost, it allows me to show somebody how to apply makeup to make themselves look and feel absolutely beautiful, and secondly, it allows me to talk about makeup for a good few hours! Something I could happily do all day long.

Just this week I had the pleasure of teaching the gorgeous Jo how to apply an extremely simple daytime makeup look for work, then got to teach her how to completely kick her look up into high glam for the evening.

As an extremely busy hairdresser and mum too, Jo wanted something ultra quick and ultra natural for the daytime. Something she could apply in minutes on those busy mornings and not have to spend much time perfecting. We went for a super natural base of concealer to brighten and conceal any darker areas followed by a gorgeous bronzer and highlighter for a healthy glow. Jo’s eyebrows are tattooed, so we finely powdered the tail of the brows and defined them further with a clear brow gel. Great for definition without adding heaviness with colour! We added a slick of mascara and a tinted gloss and that was our daytime look complete.

For the evenings, Jo really likes a heavier eye makeup look and wanted to explore contouring too. She showed me a picture of the stunning Amrezy (Instagram superstar and general gorgeous goddess) so we worked from that – a beautiful golden eye with lack liner, lashings of mascara and a more defined and sculpted face.

I absolutely loved teaching these two beautiful looks to Jo and think she looked super glamorous too!
