What’s in my makeup bag?

What’s in my makeup bag? Well, my makeup bag contents tend to change pretty often. Almost daily I’ll switch up my makeup routine and try out something new, or even delve into my makeup trolley and pull out a few old favourites to re-introduce back into my makeup bag. There are a few products however, that I tend to use daily and that I don’t switch up all that often, so I thought I’d share them with you today and tell you exactly why they’ve become my staples!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC15 and Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in 2W1 Dawn
Studio Fix Fluid is one of my firm favourites and a foundation I’ve used for years, just recently I’ve been mixing it with my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in 2W1 Dawn as I’ve got a bit of a fake tan going on which means NC15 is just a touch too light. Mixed together, these two foundations are a dream and make for excellent wear time, but I do find that Lauder breaks me out if I wear it quite often so I can only wear it for around two days at a time otherwise my skin seriously suffers!

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Light
Another firm favourite – I always set my foundation with a powder and I’ve loved this one since I first decided to order it a few months ago. This is my second compact now and I’ll continue to repurchase it whenever I run out.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1 Fair
This concealer is my absolute favourite I’ve ever tried. I picked it up by chance when I was doing a bargain makeup post and I’m so glad I stumbled across it. It’s perfect for under eye concealing or brightening and I find it an amazing eyeshadow base. Once this little beauty sets, it’s in place for the day. I use these both in my personal makeup bag and in my professional kit.

L’Oreal Glam Bronze in 06
I picked this up at Boots in Meadowhall when I was looking out for a new bronzer that I could also use as a contour shade. This one looked great and once I got it home and used it, I realised how gorgeous it smelled too! A beautiful bronzer that’s pretty matte on the skin.

Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick in Pink Bronze
Shimmer bricks have always been high up on my list of favourites, and I’ve used this one since I was in college! Gorgeous as a cheekbone highlight or lightly dusted all over the face, it’s the perfect shimmer for a summery glow and won’t break the bank.

Sleek Blush By 3 Palette in Lace
I LOVE this blush palette! I use it as an eyeshadow, blush and lip colour! I tend to use the shades Crochet and Guipure the most. Crochet is a beautiful coral colour and Guipure has an amazing golden shimmer which is gorgeous for cheekbones or even lightly dusted along the collar bone for nights out when you have a tan.

Zoeva eyeshadows in Bitter Start (off white), Substitute For Love (warm terracotta) and Elegant Chaos (deep purple)
These three eyeshadows work perfectly together and are so pigmented. They’re from the Zoeva Cocoa Blend and Smoky palette and have become a regular trio in my makeup bag. I used Bitter start as my base, followed by Substitute For Love as my transition shade followed by Elegant Chaos as my smokey, outer corner and crease shade.

Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow in Whimsical
I finally got my hands on a couple of Makeup Geek eyeshadows that I bought from Beauty Bay and I loved them instantly! The one I tend to wear daily is Whimsical which is a gorgeous icy pinky white that looks great on the brow bone or inner corner of the eye. I also use it on my cupids bow!

L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Waterproof
Waterproof mascara has recently become a necessity of mine since I realised my regular mascaras were starting to transfer. I bought this little beauty at the same time I got my L’Oreal Glam Bronze and I was really pleased with the results. It helps to make my lashes look longer and fuller without the clumping and stays on beautifully all day long.

Illamasqua Precision Brow Gel in Glimpse
My friend and former work colleague Zoe (one of Illamasqua’s brand ambassadors), recommended this gorgeous brow gel to me and told me to try the colour Glimpse as it’d work well with my naturally ginger hair. As always, she knew my makeup style well and I loved this product as soon as it arrived! Water resistant, long wearing and with a gorgeous colour pay off, it gives you amazingly defined brows in no time at all.

MAC Velvet Teddy
A firm favourite! I didn’t like Velvet Teddy when I first tried it at all – it felt too dark for me and I really wanted something a little more nude. After trying it out a few different ways, I fell in love! This is always in my makeup bag and I always take it out with my in my handbag.

Revlon Colorburst lacquer balm in Demure
I got this in a Lookfantastic Beauty Box and was really impressed with the colour and texture as soon as I used it. I like the minty scent and I love how it looks layered on top of Velvet Teddy. I wear this daily over whatever lipstick I’ve chosen for the day.
