Summertime means festival time, and what better way to get glammed up for festival season than with some beautiful glitters and gems!
The lovely Claire over at Dust and Dance very kindly sent me some BEAUTIFUL glitters from her Bestival range that are completely stunning and perfect to glitter and glimmer away all night. I decided to mix them up with a few other Dust and Dance glitters I have to create a bright, summery makeup look perfect for festivals or summer parties.
With most of my makeup looks I prefer to start with the eyes first so that I don’t ruin my foundation with any fall down that might happen with my eyeshadows. For this look I decided to go with beautiful sunset oranges and reds along with the most gorgeous hot pink shadow from my Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette called Cake. It’s the perfect pink to set the eyeshadow colours alight and looks just as beautiful in the flesh as it does captured with my iPhone camera using a ring light. My lashes are Ardell Glamour lashes along with a coat of Benefit Roller Lash to give them a little more thickness. For my brows, I used my favourite MAC Fluidline in Dirty Blonde.
Next was the skin. I’ve been absolutely loving L’Oreal’s Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Foundation lately and I mix Natural Rose and Ivory together for my perfect shade. For concealer, I’ve been using my favourite drugstore product Lasting Perfection Concealer from Collection. It has amazing coverage, wonderful staying power and looks beautiful on the skin. I added my favourite contour shade then swished on plenty of pink blush from Tilt Makeup all along my cheekbones, temples and hairline. I applied a huge dose of The Balm’s Mary Lou Manizer highlighter to the high points of my face layered up with MUA’s Shimmer Highlighter in Pink Shimmer.
For my lips I used a mixture of my Natural Collection lip liner in Ruby Rose followed by a gorgeous coat of my NYX Butter Gloss in Peaches and Cream. Next up was the fun part – the glitters! Firstly I applied the Mermaid’s Tears Face Gems to the centre of my face before adding my favourite glitters to my eyes and surrounding areas. The glitters I used were: Ambient Radiance (green/blue flecks), Love Shower (pink and silver confetti hearts and circles), Iridescent Pink Angel (pearly sparkles in the inner corner and outer corner of my eyes) and Summer of Love (the gorgeous floral glitters!) I used a mixture of Dr Paw Paw Original Balm and the Dust and Dance Cosmetic Glue (which is AMAZING) to stick the gems and glitter down.
The gorgeous team over at Dust and Dance have given me a voucher code for all of my lovely readers to enjoy, simply enter RACHAEL10 at the checkout for 10% off your beautiful glitters!
I hope that you like my Bestival inspired makeup look as much as I do, and that you are all having an amazing, sparkly summer!
