The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil review

Welcome to The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil review! I received the Oils of Life Facial Oil sample in my most recent (April) Glossybox. In my unboxing and first impressions video, I wasn’t too sure whether I’d actually give the oil a go myself. I’ve used many facial oils in the past and haven’t had the best experience with any of them – my skin was prone to break outs and allergic reactions whilst using them and the state of my skin really put me off for life. Or so I thought!

As I also mentioned in the video, temptation would surely get the better of me and just like I expected, it did! I searched up the Facial Oil on The Body Shop website and thought the description sounded amazing, “By infusing 3 precious seed oils from around the world, known for their revitalising and repairing properties on skin – Black Cumin seed oil from Egypt, Camellia seed oil from China and Rosehip seed oil from Chile – with a powerful blend of essential oils, we created a lightweight daily facial oil to intensely revitalise skin, instantly replenish moisture and revive radiance.

The oil comes in a small gold bottle with a pipette dispenser which I love with any oil products – obviously the full size packaging is different, but this little tester design works really well for me. It makes it easy to concentrate the amount you use and to ensure you don’t waste any precious product in the process.

I was interested to try the oil for many reasons. Number one was the amazing scent that reminds me instantly of a gorgeous spa. Secondly, was the ingredients – the potent daily facial oil in infused with 3 precious seed oils from around the world that are 99% oils of natural origin. The seed oils are cold-pressed which helps to preserve the potent properties and ensure your skin gets all of the goodness intended.

The oil is marketed as a lightweight, quickly absorbed formula that melts into the skin without leaving behind a sticky residue, but instead, leaving a velvety-soft finish. The oil helps to make the signs of ageing appear reduced by revitalising skin and leaving it feeling more elastic and firmer.

Can you see why I was so interested to try it out already?

I decided to take the plunge and try out the oil the very night after I’d filmed my unboxing video. A risky maneuver seen as my skin, for once, had actually been playing ball. I added a couple of drops to my fingertips after cleansing and patting my face dry, and smoothed the oil onto my skin avoiding my eye area and my lips. The oil felt so nourishing and calming and the lovely spa scent felt really tranquil and made the application a relaxing experience. I was left with a velvety finish – not at all oily and slick – and my skin felt really comfortable and moisturised. I woke up the next day to find my skin felt smooth and comfortable, and for the first time ever, I didn’t suffer any break outs in the night after using an oil!

I’ve used the oil both on a morning before my makeup application and on an evening before bed and found it to work well on both occasions. My foundation stayed in place like it normally would through the daytime and my skin felt comfortable through the night after evening applications.

I think this is a great all-round oil for all skin types – my skin is extremely sensitive and I had good skin days while using this oil twice daily so I’d like to think all you sensitive-skinned ladies would have the same experience too!
