Christophe Robin Cleansing Volumizing Paste review

I was first introduced to Christophe Robin by Lookfantastic after a gorgeous luxury sample arrived in one of their beauty boxes. It was the most beautiful shampoo that not only felt gorgeous to use, but also felt like at n aromatherapy experience too with the alluring fragrance. Not so long ago, I received another product from Christophe Robin inside one of my Lookfantastic boxes – this time, it was the Cleansing Volumizing Paste with Pure Rassoul Clay and Rose Extracts.

I’d never used a paste on my hair before so I was really intrigued to see how this would work out. I wasn’t convinced that I’d get even three applications on my hair after seeing the paste either – I was sure it would take some real work to lather it up and have my hair feeling clean once again. Oh, how wrong I was!

First of all, the paste comes inside a little plastic tub and once opened, the first thing you’ll notice is the wonderful scent of the rose extracts. This smells exactly like the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Balm which I’m a huge fan of. The paste is a rich browny-red in tone and has lots of small crystallised pieces inside.

The information on the tub states “This 85% of natural original formula brings immediate volume and thickness to fine hair without weighing it down. Apply on wet hair, massage into scalp, emulsify then rinse. Apply…on lengths if needed. Hair is left with incredible volume and body at the roots, while feeling full and light.”

I followed the instructions and I was absolutely amazed to find that the tiniest little scoop of paste emulsified gloriously on my scalp. As I have quite long, thick hair, I was really expecting to have to use a lot more product to get a clean, fresh feel, but this wasn’t the case at all. As with my last Christophe Robin shampoo, this really feels like an aromatheraputic experience too. I know that people are quite divided when it comes to the scent of rose – some love it, and some can’t stand it. I used to be of the latter, but in recent years my tastes have certainly changed and now I absolutely adore the scent. It reminds me of Valentine’s Day and of luxury and decadence so as I’m sure you can imagine, the scent is heavenly to me!

The paste left my hair and scalp feeling fresh, light and indeed, pretty volumised too.

I save this paste for special occasion hair washing as it’s just so decadent and lovely that I can’t bear to waste it just for the everyday use. If you’re looking for a truly beautiful hair shampoo with beautiful ingredients that are effective and smell divine, then this is definitely for you. It also currently comes in a beautiful gift set that would make the perfect Christmas present too.
