Welcome to our page of frequently asked questions! Here, we will cover the most asked questions we receive regarding our makeovers from special occasion and bridal to halloween and SFX!

When should I book my wedding makeup?
Wedding makeovers can book up years in advance so as soon as you’ve set your date, it’s a great idea to book!

What does the bridal makeup include?
Your bridal makeup includes a bridal trial at our beautiful studio where you’ll be able to explore one look with several tweaks over a two hour session and tell us all about your special day! It also includes the makeup on your big day at the studio, along with lashes at both appointments too. We'll help to make your wedding morning extra special in the studio with a sweet treat and bubbles for you and your bridal party to enjoy, and of course, fresh coffee and tea is always on hand too.

Do you do hair?
No – we offer makeup services only for bridal bookings.

Do you travel out for weddings?
We are primarily studio based but this is not set in stone. We like to provide our clients with a relaxing and enjoyable service and feel that working from the studio space allows us to do this. We often find that if we're travelling out to a clients' house or venue, they’re under pressure to clear a space for us, find a room with adequate lighting and also accommodate us whilst we're with them. They’re also subjected to distractions which means that the makeup application can take much longer. Having our clients visit us means that they can leave any home worries or stresses at the door and be completely looked after from the moment they walk in within a safe, relaxing and completely private environment. It also means that we can spoil them to the full with bubbles and treats while they have their makeup applied. However, if you have any special requirements or need us to visit your venue, we're more than happy to discuss these with you and try to accommodate your request. We are prepared to travel across the UK and further afield for makeovers. Please note that there must be a minimum of four people for mobile makeovers. Where four people are not present, a surcharge for the minimum amount will be added to your quote. Accommodation and travel fees will be applied for mobile bookings where necessary.

What makeup brands do you use?
Our makeup kits have been carefully selected and contain premium skincare and makeup. We use brands such as Embryolisse, The Ordinary, Graftobian, HD Brows, Illamasqua, L’Oreal, MAC, Make Up For Ever, Makeup Geek, NARS, NYX, RCMA, Sigma and Zoeva.

How long will my makeup take?
Makeup takes around an hour to an hour and 15 minutes per person depending on the makeup look chosen.

When can I take my trial?
We recommend taking your trial no earlier than a month or two before your big day. This ensures that our kits are updated with any new season products, and usually, brides have a better idea of what they’d like closer to their special day.

Can I bring my friends to my trial?
As we do not have a specific waiting room, we do not allow spectators into the studio. Only pre-booked appointment clients will be welcomed onto the premises.

Can I bring my child to my trial?
The studio is not child-friendly and we do not allow babies or children into the studio during makeup appointments. Please ensure to arrange childcare beforehand if required. If you have children within your bridal party that require a little gloss or blush on the day, please do speak with us beforehand so that we can make arrangements.

Can I have my trial at home?
We do not offer a home trial service. All trials are studio based where you will be looked after and pampered from the moment you walk through the door!

Can you recreate a look for me?
All of our Halloween/SFX looks are built on the foundations of the looks in our Halloween Look Book. Clients may pick a look to work from, but we cannot recreate a whole new look due to time limitations.

How long does a Halloween look take?
It all completely depends on the look. Some looks may take an hour, while some may take several. Please see each individual look for time estimates.

Do you travel out for Halloween makeovers?
Usually, no. Halloween makeup is messy and requires adequate space to work in. We are based in a purpose-built studio with wipe-clean surfaces - just in case of spillages! However, if you are a corporate company or looking to have an artist visit you for your Halloween party, please message us with your requirements and we will look into this with you.

When should I book?
Halloween is our busiest time of year so early booking is crucial. We have a waiting list for Halloween makeovers so please contact us for further details.

How do I book?
You can book by contacting us through our website or Facebook page. All makeovers require a 50% non-refundable and non-returnable booking fee of the total cost to secure your date and time. Your appointment will not be saved without this.

How much do Halloween makeovers cost?
The cost varies from look to look, dependent on materials and timing, please refer to our Halloween Makeup information page for the individual cost.

How long will my makeup last?
If looked after properly, your makeup will last for the full day/evening or until you decide to take it of.

Can I change my look after booking?
Every appointment is booked to a strict slot limit according to the look chosen at the time of booking. You will not be able to change your look after booking and putting down your booking fee.

Can I bring my child along to my appointment?
The studio is not child-friendly so please do make childcare arrangements beforehand.

Can I bring along a friend to watch?
We do not allow any spectators while we are working. The studio has a limited waiting area so only visitors with pre-made bookings are able to attend.

How many people can you fit in on one booking?
Each look takes at least an hour to complete so you would need to allow an hour per person per makeover. We welcome both individual and larger bookings - please contact us for further details.

Can I buy contact lenses from you?
Yes - we stock a limited amount of contact lenses to complement your Halloween look. You will need to purchase these at the time of booking as they will not be available to purchase on the day.

How do I pay?
Booking fees are payable by direct bank transfer - we do not accept cash, cheques or PayPal transfers. Remaining payments must be made before your appointment by direct bank transfer. We do not accept cash or payments on the day.

What products do you use?
Halloween makeovers are completed with professional theatre and movie grade products from the likes of Ben Nye, Kryolan, Robert Smith and Mehron. We do not use face paints or fake bloods found in supermarkets. We use professional suppliers with high quality and high performance products.

Is the makeup easy to remove?
Prosthetic makeup can be a little harder and more time-consuming to remove than regular makeup - its definitely a commitment! Regular makeup and creme paints can be removed with a makeup remover such as Micellar cleansing water. If you choose a look with liquid latex, silicone or prosthetic work, you will be given a bottle of Isopropyl Myristate (a synthetic oil used as an emollient) to help remove it carefully and efficiently. You will also be given aftercare advice.

Do you do children’s face painting?
We do not offer face painting for children. When it comes to Halloween, we focus purely on gory, gruesome looks that are SFX based. The makeup that we supply is not suitable for children.
