I love relaxing on a weekend or after work with a luxurious pamper bath – candles, beautiful products and of course, a gorgeous face mask. If I have a particularly lazy morning coming up, I’ll spend a little longer on my morning routine incorporating a mask that I can enjoy wearing while I sip my coffee and ease into the day.
Filorga is a brand that I’ve come to enjoy using over the years. I was first introduced to the company when I got to try out their Optim-Eyes Eye Contour Cream that came in the stunning lookfantastic Beauty Egg and loved the formulation of the product. It’s a best seller within the company and it’s not hard to see why. Filorga have made a name for themselves over the years for becoming a leading provider of anti-ageing solutions for the medical profession and customers alike.
I was really looking forward to trying out their Meso-Mask (a mask inspired by Mesotherapy treatments that are practiced by doctors) as it promises to brighten the skin, treat wrinkles, erase all signs of tiredness and leave behind a radiant complexion.
This mask is a little different to other masks that I’ve used in the past. It’s a gorgeously creamy texture that doesn’t really dry down on the skin during use, but stays richly nourishing throughout the wear time. I really enjoy a good clay mask from time to time, but there’s something so luxurious about using a mask like this that just feels so wholesome on the skin.

Filorga Meso-Mask Smoothing Radiance Mask review | Rachael Divers
I followed the instructions to apply a thick layer of the mask over my face, eye contour, neck and neckline and allowed it to sit for around half an hour while I enjoyed a relaxing bath and an episode of Nashville! I then removed the mask with a wet cotton pad as per the instructions. I was pleased to see my skin looked smoothed, less lacklustre and fresh. It also felt so comfortable and nourished that I probably could have skipped my moisturiser (not that I ever would, heavens above…) and not necessarily missed it.
If we look at the first five ingredients of the mask it’s easy to see how it helps to deliver that big hit of moisture that gives the appearance of plump, fresher and rejuvenated skin:
Aqua: Water
Glycerin: A hero ingredient in skincare products that can draw moisture from the air and help keep it within the skin. It’s classed as a hygroscopic (or a humectant) similar to Hyaluronic Acid. It also improves skins resiliency and leaves healthy, dewy look.
Propanediol: A Glycol that can hydrate the skin and help it to look healthy.
Pentaerythrityl Distearate: A skin conditioning agent
Hydroxyethyl Urea: A synthetic ingredient that hydrates and helps maintain normal moisture balance in the upper skin layers
I think the important thing to keep in mind when using products like this is to understand that one face mask cannot work miracles. I wouldn’t ever expect to apply a face mask and suddenly find that my persistent fine line under one of my eyes (the side that I just cannot help sleeping on as it’s SO comfortable!) has vanished. It just doesn’t work that way and it’s an unrealistic expectation. Although the mask promises to treat wrinkles and erase signs of fatigue, it does this by adding an effective dose of moisture to the skin to plump it up which in turn helps fine lines, the signs of fatigue and dullness to appear less. It’s a short-term solution albeit a very effective one!
