There’s something so delightful about having a designated time twice daily to pamper your skin, isn’t there?

A fast and effective morning routine, to a luxuriously longer evening routine – whatever your preference, it’s a great form of self-care. I think I’ve always secretly been good at self-care. I learned the healing powers of a beautifully relaxing bath back when I was really little. I’ve always been so drawn to water – perhaps my star sign plays a part in that one. I am a Pisces, after all. If ever I felt unwell or sad or needed to unwind, I would usually head off to the bath, lotions and potions in hand. If I need mental clarity too? I head for the beach. I love hearing the waves and watching them gently sashay in and out of the bay washing away the debris on the sea bed and in my mind at the same time. So, it makes sense that I really cherish the ritual of thoroughly cleansing my face twice daily and look forward to that little pocket of time. My time to unwind and wash my day away, or my time to rise and revive.

How dreamy is the packaging of the Oliver Bonas Rose Quartz Face Roller? So pretty!

The power of Rose Quartz

Something that I’ve absolutely loved adding to my daily skincare routine is my beautiful Oliver Bonas Rose Quartz Face Roller. I’d been lusting after one for such a long time on the gorgeous look of them alone, never mind the fantastic health benefits. I was so thrilled when I was gifted one for Christmas from my lovely mum and dad. Rose Quartz is actually my favourite crystal. It’s the crystal of unconditional love, healing, nourishment and comfort. Everything I want to attract into my life.

After struggling with inflammation through my chronic illness, I came across the Oliver Bonas Rose Quartz Face Roller and thought it would be the perfect way to help my swollen face in the mornings. Because the dual-ended roller encourages lymphatic circulation and drainage, it’s perfect for de-puffing and smoothing away the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

When used properly, you can expect a few longterm effects including;
Improved product absorption of your skincare
Tighter and more toned facial muscles
A more structured contour
Relief from tension
Better circulation.

I love the gold detail paired with the gorgeous Rose Quartz

How I use my Facial Roller

Cleanse
First of all, I make sure my skin is makeup-free and clean. I don’t want to push any makeup, dirt or oils from the day into my pores, so I take extra time to make sure I cleanse properly. I usually use something like the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel with a warm cloth.

Apply skincare
Next, I apply my skincare. I’m currently using The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane* which I follow with Bio Effect’s EGF Serum.* Lastly, I apply my Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream* before finishing with a slick of Blistex Relief Cream.*

Rose Quartz is naturally cool, so it’s beautifully cooling on the skin.

The dual-ended roller fits perfectly around the contours of my face.

Massage
I tend to start from my chin where I work upwards and outwards towards my cheeks. I continue working upwards and outwards until I’ve covered the whole of my face. For my eye area, I use the smaller side of the roller to gently roll outwards around the contours of my eyes. The Rose Quartz is naturally a cool stone, so I love the refreshing coolness I instantly feel around my eyes when I begin to use it. It’s absolutely blissful when my eyes feel tired or strained from too much computer work.

Once I’ve rollered my face, I like to gently roll the larger side outwards and down my neck towards my chest. This always feels like a lovely, reviving way to end my massage and I guarantee I feel better for it.

Is it worth a try?

I can hand on heart say that since receiving this gorgeously thoughtful gift, there hasn’t been a day go by where I haven’t used it. It’s been the missing piece to my skincare routine that I really wouldn’t want to go without now that I’ve discovered it. Whether you suffer from inflammation or not, this will make a rather lovely addition to your pamper routine and help you to feel glowy inside and out.

The Oliver Bonas Rose Quartz Face Roller is currently sold out, but if you’d like an alternative, you can find one from one of my favourite skincare brands, Omorovicza, here. *
