I WON Make Up Specialist of the Year at the Professional Beauty Awards 2018!

What an absolute whirlwind these past few days have been! On Sunday 25th February I travelled down to London with my mum to attend the World Spa and Wellness and the Professional Beauty Awards at the Grade-1 listed Tobacco Dock. The black tie awards evening was certainly a glamorous affair – a gorgeous champagne reception awaited us followed by an evening of entertainment and presenting by stand-up comedian and TV presenter Stephen K Amos, along with a three course meal.

I was absolutely shocked and ecstatic after hearing my name being announced as the winner of my category – Make Up Specialist of the Year 2018! I was praised for my calming manner and use of colours to enhance my model’s features before taking to the stage to collect my award and making my speech where I thanked Professional Beauty along with the lovely ladies who were also competing for the win for their friendship and support throughout the process. It’s been wonderful to meet some lovely girls that have offered unfaltering support and kind words and who were all so happy for me after my win. I’m proud of all of them and thank them for their grace and kindness.

After collecting my award I was quickly whisked away by the gorgeous Professional Beauty Team and wired up ready to give an interview on camera before having my photograph taken and of course, grabbing a quick Instagram boomerang too!

Then it was time to have big hugs with my mum who’d been waiting in the wings for me and FaceTime my Dad and my pooches who were sat up at home patiently waiting to hear if I’d been successful. As you can imagine, he was so proud and absolutely loved my trophy too!

We rejoined our table soon after and I was showered with the most lovely compliments and plenty of hugs and kisses from the other lovely women that were attending the awards. Armand Beasley and Hannah Wing (two of my category judges) also came over to congratulate me and grab a selfie and made my evening even more special with their praise and kind words.

We joined the after party downstairs shortly after the awards ceremony was over and celebrated with a drink and lots of photographs before heading off back to our hotel room for a cup of tea to end the evening!

I’ve never felt so exhilarated and shaken as I felt that evening – those are the kind of moments that you think you’ll only ever dream of, but this time. my dream really did come true. And the best part? I got to enjoy every second of it with my beautiful mum by my side – my biggest supporter and my best friend.

Thank you so much to the Professional Beauty judges for believing in me and allowing me the opportunity to have such a wonderful experience. I’m so thrilled and honoured to receive this award and never thought for one moment that I’d achieve something so special going into my fourth year of my business. A huge congratulations to everybody that won an award on the evening for their category and a massive well done to everybody that made the finals. What a talented and beautiful bunch of people you all are!
