As prom and wedding season grows ever closer, the demand for group makeup bookings is fast increasing. For years now, I have worked solo at all of my events and bookings, but my business has grown to a point where it would be beneficial for both my clients and I to have assistants on hand to help me on some of my larger makeover bookings.
I am constantly contacted by students and makeup graduates asking if they can come along and assist me for a little experience, so, I am currently looking for an assistant that would like to gain experience in makeup artistry to join me on events such as wedding bookings, wedding events and possibly brand events.

- Assisting with client care
The ideal assistant will
- Have a qualification in Makeup Artistry or a related industry

Is this a paid role?
This is currently not a paid role and is completely for experience. However, for the right assistant, there may be opportunities for a paid position in the future.
Who can apply?
Anybody that is aged 18 and above and with the correct qualifications and experience may apply for this role.
Will I have to travel far?
Most work is local to the Yorkshire area. You will be required to travel to the studio by your own means of transport, but will travel to any mobile work with me.
What are the hours?
The hours will be casual and will be as and when needed. You will be given plenty of notice to check if you will be available beforehand. Once on a job, you may be needed for anything from two hours to eight hours dependent on the job.
Will I get a break through the day?
Of course! Working in our studio or on the road is always fun and relaxed. Refreshments are always essential!
How many assistants do you need?
One assistant will be needed per job, but I am more than happy to allow several different applicants the opportunity to help out.
Will I be a dogsbody?
Absolutely not. I would never expect an assistant to do anything that I wasn’t prepared to do myself. I feel that assisting needs to be beneficial for both parties, so not only will you be assisting, but also learning. You’ll get to witness busy weddings, wedding events and large makeover groups first hand, and learn about which products are favoured by professional makeup artists. You’ll get to learn tricks of the trade and also make some beneficial connections. You will always be treated with upmost respect and will not be present simply to make tea! Although you may be required to stand around waiting in-between clients and cleaning brushes, I will be right at your side doing exactly the same.
If you’d like to apply to assist me on weddings, makeovers and events, please send a copy of your CV and a cover letter on why you feel you would be suitable for the role to Rachael_divers@hotmail.com or contact me through my Facebook business page here.
