Makeup Crush Monday: Made Yew Look

Here’s one for the SFX makeup lovers! I adore Halloween and SFX makeup of any kind and after scouring YouTube for inspiration and tutorials to learn new tips and tricks, Lex (full name Alexys Fleming) over at Made Yew Look was one of the first channels I fell in love with. A fellow redhead, Lex’s makeup looks are absolutely amazing and she can transform herself into pretty much anything she puts her mind to.

I lover her fun personality and easy to follow tutorials and how she’s more than happy to share her talent and expertise to educate her fellow makeup artists and subscribers. Many makeup artists carefully guard their secret tips and don’t want to share too much so it’s refreshing to come across artists who aren’t threatened by their fellow creatives.

One of my favourite makeup tutorials from Lex is her unbelievably creepy Bughuul demon makeovers from Sinister 1 and 2. Check it out below.

Lex is a huge influence on YouTube and one of things I love about her is how she interacts with her subscribers and customers – she has an online store where you can buy merchandise and makeup brushes. She takes requests from her subscribers and is always keeping up to date with everybody over on her Twitter account.

As Lex says over on her website: “I stand for anti-bullying, awareness, creativity, and self expression. Makeup is more than just a perception of beauty, it is used to make people feel confident, or make them into a completely new character. You can be whatever you put your mind to in the world of art, but most importantly, always be yourself.”
