If you follow me over on my social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), you’ll know just how gutted I was to see that No7 had changed their previous brow pencil to a new twist up design. For years, I’d loved the old pencil design and quite enjoyed sharpening it into a point to get that ultra defined brow look. I hung onto my old, stubby pencil for weeks until I just couldn’t sharpen it anymore (it was smaller than my little finger) and protestingly decided to buy the new equivalent. Here is my No7 Beautiful Eyebrow Sculpting Pencil review…
So, I was dead set against this new pencil and was almost 100% sure I wouldn’t like it. I just didn’t like the twist up design or the shape of the tip. If you can’t tell already, I’m not a fan of change. Just ask my mum. We were stuck with the same old tatty christmas tree that lurched to one side for twenty years because I had a dicky fit each time her and my dad suggested changing it. It might have been old but it had been ours since I was little and I loved it. Anyway, the new Beautiful Eyebrow Sculpting Pencil in the colour Brown arrived, and the next morning, I sat eyeing it up while drinking my coffee silently paddying inside at how unfair it was that my favourite old pencil just wasn’t around anymore – ridiculous, right? I wound up the twist design and started to apply the pencil to my brows and something amazing happened…I actually liked it! I suddenly thought…oh my gosh, this new pencil will change my brow game forever. It’s so sharp and so defined and the colour is amazing and oh Lord, just look at how neat that line is!!! I was officially converted. And not even begrudgingly, I was just too pleased.
The pencil has a lovely slanted edge which makes drawing in neat, defined lines a doddle and the payoff is just as good as the old pencil. It’s easy to wear either as a soft coverage or build upon for something heavier without looking cakey or too ‘drawn on’. I worried that the pencil would soon become blunt but here I am weeks on and it’s still a perfect shape for my brows. I love that they’ve still incorporated the spoolie onto the end of the pencil – this is just so convenient and something I look for within a brow pencil. The pencil also stands the test of time on the brows – it doesn’t fade away during the day or smudge – because nobody wants that melting eyebrows look, right?
I love my new brow pencil so much that it’s gotten it’s own blog post and I’ve also converted my Mum onto it too. There’s a moral to this story. Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it! This pencil is definitely worth a try.
