Old aged man SFX makeover

Old Man

Yesterday was a day full of fun turning my lovely mum into an old aged man! I took inspiration from Scrooge and ran with my idea to create an old man full of character. Fortunately, we have boxes full of old family heirlooms which included the fabulous glasses my character below is wearing – they date back to the 1800’s!

I created the look using liquid latex and prosthetic pieces from Grimas. This was my first time experimenting with the old age latex stippling effect so I was really pleased with how it turned out. I achieved the wrinkled areas by asking mum to hold her skin taught while I applied a layer of liquid latex. I dried the layer off with a hairdryer on a cool setting then added another layer and repeated the process.

The eyebrows and mutton chops were created using crepe hair and the rest of the look was achieved purely through shading, highlighting and a little red eyeliner! The hair was sprayed with a temporary hair colour to give it that salt and pepper effect.

How insane does the featured image look by the way? This was edited for me by my amazing dad, John at Divers Photography!
