When I first received my Paula’s Choice skincare delivery, I was sent a lovely sample of their moisturisers to try. I saved it until the colder months, and the other day, I used it for the first time. Welcome to my Paula’s Choice Clinical Body Butter review.
Paula’s Choice say: “This cream is rich in fat, so go ahead and indulge. Antioxidants, shea butter, and plant oils soften and smooth. This luxurious treatment cream is our richest, most effective moisturiser for dry skin. A superior blend of antioxidant-rich plant oils, restorative emollients, soothing anti-irritants, and pure shea butter leave dry skin luxuriously soft and supple—never greasy. Excellent for treating eczema-prone skin and extra-sensitive skin. This product is 100% fragrance- and colorant-free. “
I applied the body butter all over my body at around 9am in the morning. I concentrated on the dry bits of skin that I had on my elbows and knees, and also a small area on my nose which was a little dried out from some recent sinus problems. The butter felt lovely on my skin, like a protective, soothing blanket and wasn’t really scented at all. It was so easy to rub in, and with it being suitable for both face and body, it was nice to be able to use just the one product for everything. The body butter soaked in well throughout the day but left a smooth layer of moisture on my skin – although not unpleasant at all.
I say: I was really impressed to see that even after one days use, the dry skin on my nose appeared to have disappeared and my skin was left feeling smooth, hydrated and comfortable once again.
The Clinical Body Butter retails at £19.50 for 118ml and is suitable for all skin types but particularly great for eczema prone and dry skin. This might sound steep for a moisturiser, but the body butter goes a long way and showed amazing results after just one day. If you’d prefer to try a sample before you buy, you can also order these online for 70p.
I think it’s an amazing product for these colder winter months when skin is at risk of drying out. The perfect comforting moisturiser for those frosty winter nights.
