Sheet face masks have been big news in the newspapers recently and were on my ‘must try’ list for quite some time. I was really thrilled to receive one in my most recently Glossybox (December’s Rose Gold Edit) so that I could finally get around to trying and reviewing one for myself!
The mask that I received was the Starskin® Firming Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Face Mask which contains; Coconut (to hydrate), Porst (to regenerate), Soy Protein (to illuminate), Wheat Protein (to firm), Purslane (to balance), Lecithin (to smooth).
The mask is all about firming, sculpting, lifting and adding a glow to lacklustre skin. I was looking forward to trying out the mask even more when I read up a little more about the ingredients and how the masks work.
The Coconut Bio-Cellulose Face Masks are made with a natural fibrous material that has a natural affinity to bind with the skin. They were initially developed for an array of medical treatments including ‘temporary skin’ on burns victims. The Starskin® Bio-Cellulose Sheet Masks really excel at carrying and transferring the premium ingredients intensely into the skin, locking the goodness in for optimum penetration. The Bio-Cellulose Sheet Masks contain essential vitamins and have natural soothing and hydrating qualities that leave your skin feeling soft, supple, nourished and with a noticeable glow.
So, what are the key benefits of the Close Up™ Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Face Mask?
- Firming, lifting and sculpting for a supple, youthful appearance
- Improving appearance of saggy, dull skin
- Easy to use, next generation bio-cellulose delivers results in 20 minutes
- Cooling second skin firming face mask
I tried the mask out after cleansing my face as usual and read the instructions to peel off the outer two layers of the mask and apply and smooth it onto my face. The mask was extremely saturated in serum (each mask contains 30ml of serum so there’s plenty to cover your full face, neck and even décolletage), and was easy to apply and smooth over my face. The actual mask fitted so well to my skin and the material was extra thin but still felt strong enough not to tear.
I wore the mask for 25 minutes as instructed and after removing it, let the left over serum soak into my skin over the next 30 minutes or so. My skin looked and felt glowing, comfortable and nourished and I felt like I’d had my own at home spa treatment which was a lovely treat on a cosy winter night in!
I really enjoyed using the Starskin® sheet mask and the packaging is absolutely fabulous! I love how the packs look like a movie credits poster and I think it really adds to the celebrity vibe of the product. The mask was lovely to apply and wear and I love how much serum comes with each mask – it feels like a luxurious treatment but with the added comfort of being able to use it at home. I think the masks are a really nice treat and I think any beauty lover would love to receive one of these for a gift.
