How lovely is the name Sunday Rain? Such a pretty name for a beauty brand, isn’t it?
It reminds me of those moody Sundays I used to love so much when I lived in Leeds. The type of Sunday where rain would gently tap away at my windows in my little Coach House whilst I sat cosy and warm inside. Surrounded by my candles and beauty products. I do love a good pamper on a Sunday. Or any day of the week, come to think of it.
As soon as I opened up my Glossybox x Closer Beauty Box, I was drawn to the pink and rose gold Sunday Rain packaging. Not just because I spotted a silicone ‘something’ that reminded me of my Foreo Luna Mini (which I love!) But because I’m a total sucker for that millennial pink and rose gold vibe, too.
Anyway, on closer inspection, I was really intrigued by the product inside the box and took it out for a little look…
What is the Sunday Rain Face & Body Sponge?
The face and body sponge is made of silicone and aims to remove impurities and dead skin cells. Inside the silicone outer layer, you’ll find the actual sponge part. The outer top layer is covered in super soft silicone bristles. It’s shaped like a rounded plug which makes it really easy to hold: even when you’re using it with your favourite facial cleanser or body wash.
What does it do?
The main aim is to remove impurities and dead skin cells to leave you with glowing skin. It’s meant to give you that ‘at-home spa’ vibe. It helps you to gently massage your skin as you cleanse away.
How do I use it?
It’s super simple to use, simply wet the sponge, add your favourite cleanser and use gentle circular motions across your face and body. Sunday Rain recommend regularly cleaning the sponge by leaving it to soak in hot water for five minutes, before rinsing it out and leaving it to air dry naturally.
I really like this little sponge! I love the concept and love how it can be used all over the body. I’d love to see it in a larger version specifically for use on the body as I think it would be speedier. But saying that, the idea is to relax and pamper away, so it’s not really a thing you’d necessarily expect to use in a hurry anyway.
It feels super soft and relaxing to use – especially on the face and neck. It left my skin feeling refreshed and all round lovely.
I love using it on my face, particularly when I have a headache. It’s lovely and soothing!
