Welcome to my Utan and Tone Nourishing Night Creme Review! I recently got a tube of the Utan & Tone Nourishing Night Creme in my July Glossybox and I was absolutely dying to try it out! I’m a huge fan of gradual tanners, especially facial gradual tanners so I was really keen to put it to the test and see how it’d perform.
Enriched with antioxidants along with vitamins C, B5, B6, B9 and K, the nourishing night creme is packed with all the ingredients that make the perfect recipe for healthy, glowing skin. Also delivering a hit of Hyaluronic Acid and an all organic tanner, the creme promises a lovely gradual tan all whilst regulating and conditioning the skin overnight.
The golden rules of application are:
- Apply to cleansed face, neck and décolletage in upwards circular motions as part of your essential skincare regime
- Avoid the eyebrows and blend carefully along the hairline
- Wash hands after use
I applied the creme on the first night after my regular skincare routine and went to bed. Waking up the next morning, my skin didn’t really look to have gained any colour what so ever, but I did put this down to the fact that my skin was moisturised beforehand so perhaps the products hadn’t had enough change to settle in initially before application of the creme. The next evening, I applied the creme to my skin completely on it’s own – I skipped my regular moisturiser and instead used only the Utan & Tone Creme. I woke up the next morning to a lovely, natural looking tan! No streaking, no stain on my cream pillowcase and no orange hairline! I was really happy with the look of the tan and how subtle it was on my skin.

Utan and Tone Nourishing Night Creme Review | Before and after – a beautifully natural tan that leaves your skin sunkissed without the sun damage
Something I always get asked about fake tans is whether or not they carried that strong fake tan smell as they were developing, the answer with this tan is yes. There is a fake tan smell about it but it’s not half as strong as other tans I’ve used in the past. Once the tan is initially applied, it has a lovely soft but fresh fragrance, but I did notice the fake tan smell after waking up the next morning but it quickly went away once I cleansed my face with my regular cleanser.
The tan wore really nicely over the next couple of days and faded away evenly and gently – no scaly patching or streaks were in sight. I’d recommend topping up this tan every few days to maintain the lovely golden glow. I have to mention that I did break out with six small spots. Saying that, my skin is ultra sensitive and it doesn’t take much to upset the balance. I do intend to test the tan again to see if my skin reacts the same so I can either confirm or rule out if the creme doesn’t agree with my skin, but I seriously hope it was just coincidence as I really enjoyed using this and think the results are lovely.

Utan and Tone Nourishing Night Creme Review
Would I recommend this gradual face tanner? Absolutely! It’s easy to use, nourishing to the skin, is pretty fool proof, wears away nicely and is £25 for a hefty 50ml. Considering this tan is for your face, neck and décolletage, 50ml should last you a fair old while. Buy the Utan & Tone Nourishing Night Creme here.
As a dupe, I think this tanner is really comparable to the St Tropez Anti-Ageing Gradual Tan that is £12.99 for 50ml so if you’re looking for a slightly cheaper option, that’s your guy colour and wear wise (it also firms and plumps and has the innovative Aromaguard fragrance technology that eliminates the tell-tale self tan aroma by a minimum of 70% – and trust me, it works!)
Summer ready skin with zero sun damage!
