Throughout October I had the pleasure of working at the Yorkshire Scare Grounds Scream Park – a delightfully scary horror attraction in Wakefield. Built into a huge woodland, the Scare Grounds hosts several mini mazes full of live actors that aim to scare! From a slaughter house to a hospital and a hotel to the wild west, it wasn’t short on creatively themed scares.

I was thrilled to be accepted as part of the Makeup Artist team for 2017 after passing my audition (I had to create a gory ghost), and I was so excited to get started and meet the other lovely ladies.
The other ladies in the makeup team were all absolutely lovely – so down to earth, friendly and above all, mega talented too!
We had many ghosts and ghouls to get ready for each evening at the Scare Grounds so we were flat out working back-to-back to get through as many live scare actors as we could within three hours.
During the time I worked there we had to keep our gory looks under wraps so as not to ruin the scares for anybody that was booked to visit. But now that the event is over, I can share some of my gory and gruesome makeup looks with you all!
