One of the most exciting products to come from the latest Lookfantastic LFBDAY beauty box was the cute mini version of the BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie® Lipstick.
Highly coveted amongst the BareMinerals fans, the Marvelous Moxie lipstick is infused with minerals to revitalise lips, all whilst conditioning and nourishing with a hydrating complex including Abyssinian Oil and Omega Fatty Acids. The vitamin A, C and E complex helps to give lips a hit of antioxidant defense making the lipstick almost both a treatment and makeup product in one.
I was looking forward to trying the lipstick as I’d heard people rave about it before and I must say, I’ve always been fond of the BareMinerals brand on a whole.
On first impressions, I think the packaging (both box and actual lipstick tube) look great. Sleek, sophisticated and stylish. The colour that was sent out in the boxes was Get Ready – a rich rosy pink. Just the sort of colour I’d have chosen for myself had I gone to personally pick out a shade.
I applied the lipstick to my lips and instantly noticed the smell of the lipstick – it was quite a strong scent and almost reminded me of the cheaper makeup that I used to buy back when I was in school. Although quite nostalgic, not really the kind of scent I’d enjoy smelling throughout the day. Nevertheless, I applied the lipstick and was really pleased with the formula and colour payoff. The formula is really smooth and almost buttery, but not so buttery that it bleeds over the lip line. It was so easy to apply the lipstick neatly straight from the bullet and I loved the moisturising feel it had on my lips.
I wore the lipstick throughout the day and I was so impressed with how well it stayed on. Minimal retouching was required throughout the day and my lips felt comfortable and moisturised.
The only downside I can find to this lipstick is the smell that does tend to linger a little while after application. It smells a little gone off, and after a quick whizz around the internet, it was a common complaint from a fair few customers.
Overall, I really enjoyed using the lipstick but I wouldn’t repurchase it once I’ve finished it unless the formula was changed to alter the smell.
