Cobalt Blue Makeup for Prom with Alex

Just this week I had the absolute pleasure of making over the beautiful Alex ahead of her prom at Burntwood Court in Brierley. I’ve made Alex over before for her Teen Makeover shoot at Divers Photography, so I was so looking forward to making over her beautiful face again!

Alex was wearing a stunning blue Ted Baker dress to prom with diamante details and told me she’d like to have a blue eye makeup look with sparkles in the inner corner. It’s not often that people ask me for a blue eye makeup look, so I was excited to be let loose with my gorgeous blue hues from Urban Decay to create Alex’s perfect prom eyes!

I used a gorgeously richly pigmented cobalt blue for our main colour, and blended it out with Zoeva’s Substitute For Love eyeshadow – a beautiful transition colour that complemented Alex’s dark eyes perfectly. Next it was on with the glitter – for this look I used LIT Cosmetics glitter in Barbie Shops, the prettiest glitter that changes colour in the light and sparkles beautifully. A slick of MAC Blacktrack liner and Ardell Glamour lashes later, and the eye look was complete.

For the skin, I used MAC Studio Fix Fluid – my absolute favourite foundation that not only perfects, but also photographs beautifully too. I finished off the base with MAC’s Soft and Gentle Mineralize Skinfinish and MAC Medium Tan. On the lips, we went for MAC’s Peachstock which finished the look off perfectly.
