Beautifully defined brows are bang on trend right now, so when I was given the opportunity to try out the Toppik Brow Building Fibers* set, I jumped at the opportunity.
Toppik is an international brand which was established over in the USA over three decades ago. The company have been revolutionising the hair care and hair loss industry by creating products to offer solutions to these issues. Toppik Brow Fibers are amazing for use on both full and sparse brows, and the unique formula means that they will actually create the appearance of a thicker, fuller look. As soon as I read more about the company, I knew I’d love to try the product out, and I also really love how much the brand has seemed to help so many people who are suffering from loss of hair both on their heads and on their brows. And they don’t just carry products for thinning hair either – their range includes nutritional supplements, shampoos and conditioners just to name a few, that help to nourish and protect hair and promote healthy growth.
The Brow Building Fibers Set is a set like no other that I’ve come across before – the Brow Building Fibers are actually made of coloured keratin protein, the same type of protein that’s found in your natural hair. The fibers have a static charge that binds the fibers to your own hair to create a totally natural look and feel.
I chose the colour Light Brown, the lightest in the range, as I thought it would be best suited to my naturally red hair. The colour would also be great for blondes. The set comes with a conditioning brow wax, the brow fibers and a dual ended brush. The wax and fibers are in a small stacked pot for convenience with the brush loose on the side. The brush has a small flat brush side and a small angled brush side so you can use either side to apply the wax and fill in the brows. The wax is designed not only to tame unruly brows, but to condition them and prepare them for the use of the fibers. Containing Mango, Cocoa butter, Avocado, Jojoba Oils and Shea Butter, the wax is super nourishing to the brow hair follicles and skin.
The set comes in a sleek black box that contains the two stacked pots of wax and brow fibers. The fibers are in a shaker pot so they’re really easy to open and use on the go without fear of the product spilling everywhere. You have to shake the pot quite hard to get the fibers out which I see as a good thing as you’re less likely to waste any product along the way or have an overspill when you unscrew the lid. I’m sure we’ve all been there with powdered products in the past, and not only is it a nightmare to keep cleaning, but it also wastes SO much product that you could have put to good use!
The guide paper in the box explains to first apply the wax to your clean brows, then apply the brow fibers afterwards using the brush provided. The video below shows exactly how to use the set and you can see just how quick the application process is.
I was really looking forward to trying out the brow fiber building set as I’d not really heard of anything like this specifically for eyebrows before, and I was seriously impressed with how the fibers applied to my brows and how well the colour suited me. I’ve recently been experimenting with my brows and trying out a really heavy, structured look, but I absolutely love how natural and full my brows look with this product. If you’re looking for natural, fuller looking brows and want to achieve the look quickly and effortlessly, you’ll love this.
The fibers look extremely natural on the brows, and despite using a wax beforehand, you can’t actually feel it on your brows like you’d expect. There’s no waxy or crusty residue and the fibers are actually pretty transfer-proof which I wouldn’t have expected from such a light product. I’ve worn the set for the last four or so days now, and on each occasion my brows have looked and felt fab all day long. The fibers don’t slip away throughout the day and wont smudge off your brows if your hair blows across them or you manage to catch them with your hand. This product works extremely well when you’re wanting to achieve a more natural brow rather than a strong, structured brow, but, there’s nothing to stop you carving your brow out with a concealer afterwards to get that heavy, extremely defined look. I’m so happy with this product that I’d even stock it in my professional makeup artistry kit for use on my clients and models at photo shoots.
The set currently comes in three colours; Dark Brown, Medium Brown and Light Brown and is priced at £16.95 which I actually think is a great price for a product that works so well. If you’d like to find out more about the Toppik Brow Building Fibers, please click here.
